To complement his free-standing store in Kowloon and his racks at Lane Crawford, Phillip Lim has opened a 3.1 Phillip Lim pop-up shop on Hong Kong island. The store launched last week on Wing Fung Street in Wanchai, in an area that is quickly becoming the destination shopping hotspot with stores like the Monocle Shop, Club Monaco, Kapok and many others.
The 3.1 Phillip Lim store is a two-story affair done in a raw and modern style designed by Lim and set designer Jonathan Beck. The store will be opened for 10 months and during that period, the merchandise will shift from women’s to men’s and back and a combination of both. Currently, the store stocks the holiday and pre-spring 2013 women’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections. In February, it will house the men’s spring 2013 clothes followed by the women’s in March. In June, the pop up store will sell both women’s and men’s lines.
The space itself has the feel of an art gallery filled with installations. There are louvres that can be modified and changed depending on the merchandise being sold. There is a wall of videos featuring short films on the 3.1 Phillip Lim label. And the products themselves look like wearable works of art.
Visit the 3.1 Phillip Lim pop up store at 21 Wing Fung Street, Wan Chai. Tel: 2520 6266

Those printed, pointy-toed shoes are making me want to buy a ticket for Hong Kong right now! And the deep green bags…aaaaaahh! I need something in that color…and fast!
Actually, there is a Philip Lim shop in Harbour City
