As I am traveling today, I would like to share videos that I stumbled upon on YouTube recently. First is a documentary on Tom Ford, the man and the brand, from OWN‘s Visionaries series. In the film, the designer talks about fashion, writing and directing a movie, starting his own label, and taking more than three baths a day. The film ends with his first womenswear runway show for his own label featuring Beyonce, Julianne Moore, Marisa Berenson among others. As you will probably recall, Ford did not allow photographers at the show except for Terry Richardson.
The second film is part of BBC‘s documentaries called Boss Women and it features Anna Wintour and the making of the February 2000 issue of Vogue. See the younger selves of most of the characters you saw in The September Issue. You will also find Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier and Oscar de la Renta partying with Puff Daddy. And it won’t be an Anna Wintour film without the nervous assistant wheeling racks of clothing. Anna Wintour also reveals that they did three tries for Gwyneth Paltrow‘s first cover shoot for Vogue.
Lastly, is a short tour of Daphne Guiness‘s apartment in Manhattan via The New Yorker. The apartment was designed by Daniel Romualdez and I believe it has been put on the market.
