For the past several days I have been trawling the internet for a Lalanne piece that I can afford. Francois Xavier and Claude Lalanne are known for their surrealist and whimsical pieces of furniture and home accessories.
Every time I read about what inspires today’s rising decorators, almost always the names of grand ladies who led fabulous lives come up. Names that read pretty much in verbatim Truman Capote’s Swan list: Lee Radziwill, Babe Paley, Marella Agnelli, CZ Guest. And so the birth of this new series on the blog on Grande Dames In Grand Homes.

I am currently obsessing over the work of French architect Joseph Dirand. Though I am not personally a minimalist, I find myself completely drawn to his aesthetics that is all about clean lines and the purity of form.
